韓国の地下鉄駅

Rebooting. This is a real picture of Sincheon subway station in Seoul. Quite impressive for me... But why the display is showing rebooting screen? The display is connected to a PC with normal VGA cable? hmm, puzzling.

Hi there,
It is a real picture of Sincheon subway station in Seoul. I found it quite funny, but most people are simply ignoring this...

This is fake, ok. I don't care how many pix you have like these, since a normal PC system dont run stuff like that. The computers that do that is probably a PLC system.

Posted by: Pixeleye on September 17, 2004 04:31 AM

Yep, my photo is not fake, but probably the display is fake. y-Aki commented that could be an advertisement of Samsung.

I agree with your comment too, it's too strange to connect VGA output to this kind of display.
(But Korean people do strange things....)

Anyway it's quite funny scene, isn't it?

Posted by: arai on September 17, 2004 04:38 AM

Haha, very funny!!

If it's a fake, it's not a bad one. Notice that the letters from the display are reflected onto the ceiling above. I suppose some Samsung wizard could comment on the likelihood that the display is real. If that's the reboot script associated with a PC that would be one thing, but if it's a Samsung server script...

Pretty funny just the same.

I'm sure it's real... I saw a similar screen on an outdoor TV billboard just a few days ago. I didn't have a camera with me, though. :(

It's probably hung on "No keyboard detected - Press F1 to continue", or some other BIOS error.

I have no idea why you are so sure that its a Samsung screen ? The PC that is currently booting has a Samsung HDD and CD-Rom , sure , but the screen could be whatever.

I think the display is connected via the serial interface. I know hardware, which you can admninstrate via serial console, you can even see the POST stuff or configure the bios via rs232 (yes, x86 hardware). This would explain why this stuff is shown on the display.

Hi there,
It's a bit of a strange situation, but I am a teacher of creative writing, and a student submitted a story that is exactly like your infertility story. I mean exactly. I googled it because the girl is only 14. She claims that she wrote it back in 2004 and showed me her livejournal with excerpts from the story. I am a neophyte to this cyber-writing world. Can you confirm that you wrote this story before 7/12/2004? I appreciate any help you can give me; I'd love to get to the bottom of this..
Thanks!
Karen
